SOTT - Southern Oilman's Tennis Tournament, Lafayette, LA

Rules & Regulations

1. All players must register and pay tournament player fees prior to playing or be subject to forfeiture of matches and eligibility.

2. Draw sheets will be posted at the SOTT headquarters at Oakbourne Country Club during registration and the duration of the tournament. RESPONSIBILITY FOR DETERMINING COURT LOCATION AND MATCH TIME RESTS WITH INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS.

3. Each court location will have a SOTT official and registration table. Please report to the table at least 15 minutes before scheduled match. Actual court assignment will be made at this time. A team will forfeit a scheduled match if either player arrives more than 15 minutes late. A default will count as a match.

4. The winning team in all matches will be responsible for turning in scores and returning match balls to tournament desk within 10 minutes after the completion of a match. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the match.

5. SUB RULE: Subject to “injury-related” allowances described in the next sentence, AFTER THE FIRST ROUND – NO SUBSTITUTIONS! If an injury occurs during the first round, the team must default the 1st-Round match, and SOTT's Tournament Play Committee will provide a substitute for the 2nd Round. If injury happens in the 2nd Round, you must default the match and your team will be out of the tournament. At times, teams may agree with each other (but are not obligated to) to allow for a substitute on a team for a match that is already in default status (simply to allow for more tournament play time); however, it is understood and agreed by the already-defaulted team w/such a sub that all matches played from that point forward are considered losses/defaults.

6. All TENNIS matches will be 2 out of 3 sets, with no-add scoring. A 12-point tie-breaker will be played at 6-6 in all sets. Format subject to change, as determined by the SOTT Tournament Play Committee in its sole discretion.

7. All PICKLEBALL matches will be 2 out of 3 games. Games will be played to 15 Points, Win by 2. Format subject to change, as determined by the SOTT Tournament Play Committee in its sole discretion.

8. Tournament Winner & Runner-Up prizes are to be picked up at the Oakbourne Country Club Tournament Desk following completion of team competition. The extent of runner-up prize categories to be awarded (beyond 1st & 2nd place) will be determined by the SOTT Tournament Play Committee, in its discretion, according to the # of teams ending up in each bracket, dependent upon final tournament registration #'s.

9. In the unlikely event of rain, the tournament play committee reserves the right to alter the tournament format.

12. This is an invitational tournament. Failure to respect the rules, regulations and criteria for participation may subject you to removal from future invitations.
